A Recycled Paper Guide: Our Top 6 Recycled Paper, Cardstock and Envelopes

In celebration of Recycle Week 2020, we're sharing our top recycled paper and card picks at The Paperbox.

At a time when climate change has emerged as one of the biggest existential threats to humanity, it’s never been more important to be mindful about reducing and reusing everyday resources.

Fortunately, paper is a relatively easy material to recycle, so much so that the UK recycles about 80% of its paper. If you’re planning a wedding, opting for eco-friendly and sustainable invitations, save-the-dates and wedding stationery is a great way to be socially responsible.

1. Barely Blush

Recycled content: 100%

No need to choose between recycled or trendy colours, this popular cool pink shade is made from 100% recycled post-industrial paper fibres. All paper from our A4 coloured matte range is uncoated and comes from paper mills in Europe, ensuring consistency in quality.

2. White Grain

Recycled content: 50-70%

This beautiful card is made with 50-70% recycled spent brewers grain, a brewery byproduct that gives this card an earthy and authentic feel. The spent grain is visible as densely packed specks throughout every sheet of cardstock. No two sheets are the same, resulting in unique stationery for your invitations, save-the-dates and table place cards.

3. Eco-Fleck, Aged White

Recycled content: 40%

A soft, off-white shade, Eco-Fleck is a more subtle recycled choice. With smatterings of fibres dispersed throughout the card, each sheet is perfectly unique and individual.

4. Rose Gold Matte

Recycled Content: 80%

Made up of 80% recycled fibres, Rose Gold Matte is a warm and sophisticated shade, ideal for those wanting to incorporate pink while steering away from the more common blush and dusky tones.

5. Kraft

Recycled Content: 100%

There was no way Kraft wasn't getting a mention. This earthy brown card has been everywhere for the past few years, from wedding invites to greetings cards, and is still going strong!

Made from post-consumer waste, this firm favourite adds a natural, rustic touch to projects, particularly when paired with hessian string or fine twine.

6. Ivory Fleck

Recycled content: 80%

While similar to Eco-Fleck, Ivory Fleck isn't as subtle, and flecks and fibres throughout this paper are more pronounced and less sparse. With the placement of visible fibres varying, no two sheets or envelopes are alike.
